It all started with a four-inch book written in green crayon on orange paper, called "A Dog, A Cat, and a Rabbat." Yes, I realize that's not how rabbit is spelled. I know that now. But when I was five, I wasn't worried about the spelling. I was too busy creating my masterpiece ("illustrated by the author").

Today, my features appear in publications such as:

Writing

An award-winning writer (really; it's true!), Kate writes features appearing in publications such as Better Homes & Gardens, Family Circle, Parents, Self, FamilyFun, Cooking Light, American Baby, DOG FANCY, Cary Magazine, Carolina Parent, NCSU Alumni Magazine, Kitchen & Bath Business, BJ's Journal, and many others.

Editing

Prior to launching a successful freelance career, Kate edited telecommunications and veterinary medical newsletters, website copy, and technical documentation. She frequently edits her husband's comments to his mother-in-law.

Corporate Work

Kate develops, writes, edits, and designs a wide range of business materials, both in print and online, including brochures, newsletters, press releases, corporate identity pieces, marketing "give-aways," and website copy.

Web design

Kate created the website for North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as her own site. She's experienced in Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker, and other software packages.
